Common payload types

QR codes can store URLs, plain text, email links, phone numbers, SMS drafts, and Wi-Fi connection strings. The scanner decides how to handle the payload.

Size and margin

Larger images are easier to scan from signs, slides, and print pieces. A quiet margin around the code helps scanners detect the QR boundary.

Error correction

Higher error correction can survive more damage or visual noise, but it also increases QR density. Use M or Q for most digital and print uses.

PNG vs SVG downloads

PNG is convenient for documents, chat, and image editors. SVG stays sharp for print layouts, web pages, and design systems.

Wi-Fi QR codes

Wi-Fi payloads encode the SSID, security type, password, and hidden-network flag. Anyone who scans the code may be able to join that network.

Safety tips

Avoid encoding tokens, private URLs, customer data, unreleased campaign links, or Wi-Fi passwords unless the QR image will be shared only with trusted people.

Does this QR Code Generator upload my data?

No. Payload building and QR rendering happen locally in your browser. The tool does not call an external QR API.

Does it check whether a URL is real?

No. URL validation only checks the local URL shape and protocol. It never fetches the URL, opens it, or follows redirects.

Which error correction level should I use?

Use M for most everyday QR codes. Use Q or H when the code may be printed small, handled roughly, or placed near visual clutter.

Should I download PNG or SVG?

Choose PNG for quick sharing and raster documents. Choose SVG when you need a scalable vector file for websites, print, or design tools.

Are Wi-Fi QR codes safe?

They are convenient but sensitive. A Wi-Fi QR code can reveal the network password to anyone with access to the image.
